Not quite! Digital dentures can be made in two main ways — either milled from high-impact acrylics that have been tried and tested for years, or 3D printed from newer composite materials. At Smile Care, we use precision-milled dentures for their strength, comfort, and reliability.

Great question — and one we’re really proud to answer! As a partner of the Australian Dental Sustainability Initiative, all of our milling by-products are collected and recycled into eco-friendly products such as OneDeck composite decking, made locally right here on the Bellarine Peninsula. This is the only initiative in the world turning dental acrylic into sustainable products — so when you choose a digital denture from Smile Care, you’re not only getting the latest technology, you’re also helping reduce environmental waste and support Australian manufacturing.

Instead of being made the old-fashioned way, digital dentures start with either a scan of your mouth or a traditional impression that’s then scanned into a computer. Using CAD software (Computer-Aided Design), we can design your new smile with incredible accuracy — down to the tiniest detail.

Don’t panic! Because your denture design is stored as a digital file, we can recreate an exact copy at the push of a button. In most cases, we can have a replacement ready in as little as 24 hours.

That’s one of the great things about digital technology! With our intraoral scanner, we can scan your mouth and even loose teeth without any discomfort or risk. It’s completely mess-free and perfect for anyone who struggles with traditional impressions.

Every smile is different, but in some cases, your new denture can be completed in just two appointments. More complex cases might take a few extra visits — but the results are well worth it.

Absolutely! In fact, digital dentures often look better than traditional ones. Because each tooth is individually designed, no two smiles are ever the same. For partial dentures, we can even mirror your natural teeth so the new ones blend in perfectly.

A good set of dentures should stay put and feel natural. We design each one to fit your mouth precisely, taking into account gum shape, bone structure, and facial support to restore your natural appearance. For those wanting extra confidence, implant-retained overdentures are a great option — they “snap in” securely, making eating and talking easier, while also reducing bone loss over time.

It all starts with a chat! Give Smile Care Denture Clinic a call to book a complimentary consultation. We’ll take the time to discuss your needs, show you how digital dentures work, and help you decide if they’re the right solution for your smile.
